TUTICORIN: Sterlite Copper organized
a free eye camp at Panchayat Union Primary School, Therku Veerapandiapuram here
on Saturday.
As
part of Sterlite’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in the field
of health, various health and eye camps are being conducted in different parts
of the district regularly. An eye camp was organized at Therku Veerapandiapuram
in association with Aravind Eye hospital, Tirunelveli.
Around
120 people were benefitted from the camp and the participants were screened by a
team of Aravind hospital doctors comprising Dr.Neha and Dr.Pooja.
During
the camp, tests on various defects like myopia, hypermetropia, presbyopia, eye
pressure, colour blindness were carried out on the participants and 30 people
were referred for cataract surgery at Aravind Eye hospital, Tirunelveli.

Sterlite were present during the event.
