TUTICORIN: Sterlite Copper organized
a free eye camp at North Aathoor here on Sunday.
As
part of Sterlite’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives in the field
of health, various health and eye camps are being conducted in different parts
of the district regularly. An eye camp was organized in association with Aravind
Eye hospital, Tirunelveli at Shanmugasundara Nadar High School, North Aathoor.
Around
175 people were benefitted from the camp and the participants were screened by a
team of Aravind hospital doctors comprising Dr.Adarsh and Dr.Naronil.
During
the camp, tests on various defects like myopia, hypermetropia, presbyopia, eye
pressure, colour blindness were carried out on the participants and 34 people
were referred for cataract surgery at Aravind Eye hospital, Tirunelveli.
